Kitenge II

These three women epitomize the women of Rwanda, past and present.  As one tours Rwanda's countryside and cities, one sees women stylishly wrapped in such kitenge fabrics.  Kitenge is made by drawing patterns in hot wax and dyeing them different colors in successive stages, a technique commonly knows as 'batik'.
